February 2016 - John Hewett joins AFS as a Consultant

John Hewett joins the team of Consultants at AFS.

AFS Director, Alan Liversedge says “John brings with him a wealth of experience, having worked as a lecturer in the Marine Simulation Centre at South Tyneside College for 16 years, latterly being the Curriculum Leader for the department. Prior to working at South Tyneside College, John worked in the Merchant Navy to senior rank. After leaving the Merchant Navy he worked in the offshore oil and gas industry - where he achieved the position of Offshore Installation Manager. We are very much looking forward to working with John”. 

Amongst John’s varied teaching experiences are delivery of: NAEST (Ops) & (Man); NSAP; HELM(O) & HELM(M); ECDIS; Bridge Team Management Training; Offshore Bridge Simulator; BRM; VTS Nautical Knowledge; Master’s and Mate’s orals and Ice Navigation Courses.

John has delivered training to clients at their own sites, and has been responsible for the administration of courses and ISO system (academic) within MSC.
